Pulled something in my shoulder last night. 360 degree pain, right the way around, somehow, can’t even walk, it’s crazy, and I hate it. Damn it, I’m Robin Hood, I don’t sit still very well. And here I am, in a chair, with my arm at a funny angle, ’cause I fell over yesterday and went to the gym when I really should’ve gone to the doctor’s. Which is where I should be going now, in all honesty, but I can’t bring myself to do it. I can still go out, do my gig, ’cause at least I’m right handed, not left. Anyway, anyone out there able to give me a hand? No pun intended; lifting my left puts nerve pain in my shoulder, what can I do? Is there a doctor in the house?
Alright, so I had a gig last night, is what happened. You might read about it sometime, but long story short I had all this money stored up from thefts and what not, so I spread it out to all the bums on the street from time to time. A tenner here, a tenner there. See, thousands of people in the United Kingdom alone are thousands of pounds in debt, and all you people out shopping can’t spare some small change so they can get a cup of coffee? This isn’t Neil Gaimen’s Neverwhere, there is no Floating Market where they can trade a piece of string for a poppadom. That’s why I’m still doing this, why I’m risking imprisonment and a lot of hell to do some sort of part. It’s not much, but it’s raising awareness, and if it buys some homeless guy I don’t know a meal, then so be it. At the very least, buy a big issue – surprisingly good reads.
My point this morning, though, was that I fell down the stairs on Burton Street. Smart huh? Landed on my shoulder, got home, fell into bed on the other shoulder and woke up feeling sorry for myself. Looks like the police’ll have a quiet week chasing after me. Paladins too, might lay off for a bit. Can’t afford to dodge someone shooting laser from their eyes or whatever power shows up this time. Seriously, it amazes me how much those guys can hide from the general public. So maybe this is Neverwhere.
